Here are some of the questions other families have asked us.

  • We’re open Monday to Friday, from 7:15am to 5:45pm.

    To ensure fairness for our staff and to stay in-line with our operation licence, late pick-ups may incur a late pick up fee.

  • We welcome children from 2 to 5 days a week, depending on what suits your family.

    We require a minimum of two days per week for permanent enrolments, as it helps children settle in and form strong connections with their Educators and peers.

    We’re happy to talk about increasing or changing days if space is available. Casual bookings can also be arranged as needed.

  • Elm St is a long day care centre for children aged 0–6 years. We provide care and early education from morning through late afternoon, 50 weeks of the year. Our program is play-based and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.

  • Yes, absolutely. Our on-site chef prepares healthy, home-cooked meals daily. Children are served five meals and snacks each day, along with milk and water.

    We support families by preparing and serving breast milk or formula as needed, and we provide a private space for breastfeeding at the centre.

    All dietary requirements are respected and we are strictly nut-free.

  • Yes! You're very welcome to breastfeed at the centre. We’ll make sure you have a quiet, comfortable space whenever you need it.

  • Each child’s needs will vary but in general, please pack:

    • A full set of spare clothes

    • A water bottle (pre-filled)

    • Sheets and a sleeping outfit (if required) for nap time

    • A sun hat and sunscreen (applied before arriving)

    • For formula milk feeds: sterilised bottles and the tub of formula, plus sterilised warm water in a flask. Please note: formula tubs will be dated and must be discarded after 4 weeks

    • For breast milk feeds: breast milk in sterilised bottles

    • If using cloth nappies: please supply what's required each day

  • At Elm St, we provide everything your child needs for a rich, engaging day:

    • Five healthy meals and snacks prepared fresh each day

    • Nappies (unless you prefer to bring your own cloth nappies)

    • All learning materials and supplies for art, sensory play, construction play and more

    • Music classes for all age groups*

    • Non-competitive soccer sessions for children aged 2.5 years and over*

    • Yoga and movement sessions

    • Gardening and sustainability experiences, including caring for our fruit trees

    • Cooking workshops guided by educators, helping children explore food, culture and independence

    *Only offered during selected periods of the year and subject to availability.

  • You can request a tour via our website or by contacting us directly. We’ll work with you to find a day and time that suits you.

  • Yes, you may be eligible for financial support from the Australian Government through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). You can learn more and use the CCS calculator on the Services Australia website.

    Families with children aged 3 and over may also be able to access Start Strong funding from the NSW Government. This can help reduce your fees.
